Biogas

The process

Explore comprehensive biogas technology designed to convert organic waste into clean energy efficiently. Our solutions offer sustainable power generation, reducing environmental impact while enhancing energy independence.

Ideal for agricultural, industrial, and municipal applications, these systems optimize methane production through innovative digestion processes and durable, eco-friendly materials.

Organic waste

Organic waste from food production, agriculture and households is delivered to the biogas plant. Organic waste can consist of animal manure, residues from agricultural production and residues from wastewater treatment plants.

Household waste must be sorted at source before it is suitable for biogas production.

Biogas plant

In the biogas plant, the added waste products, also called biomasses, are shredded and pumped over to the oxygen-free reactors, where they are heated. In the reactor, a biological process takes place whereby the bacteria produce biogas.

Electricity

Biogas can be used to operate a gas engine that drives an electric generator that produces electricity.

Heat

Biogas can be used to operate a gas engine in a combined heat and power plant, which converts the biogas into energy in the form of heat, or it can be used for cooling in industrial processes.

Biogas/natural gas

The raw biogas is purified and can then be sent out to the nationwide natural gas network or used as fuel in the transport sector.

Fertilizer

The degassed biomass is used as fertilizer and soil improver in the fields. The degassed biomass contains all the nutrients that were added to the biogas plant with the organic material.
